| What's happened since Year 12: |
Spent two years at Monash University upgrading my skills at playing cards and hockey and working through how best to flunk out at the second year exams.
Then moved on to the Public Service, namely the Tax Office, spending 8 years trying to catch tax cheats and then trying to prosecute them and bankrupt them. During this time, got married, had a child and got divorced.
In 1990, IT and the Tax Office got into bed together and that was my lucky break. Joined the IT section in its infancy, and stayed there until 1999, doing hardware installations, 2nd level support and eventually managing the email infrastructure for the ATO from 1996 to 1999.
In 1998 the Government decided our jobs could be done cheaper by private enterprise, so we were out sourced in 1999. Luckily for me, EDS picked me up as a Project Manager managing Tax Office IT projects. Have travelled the length and breath of Australia over the past 4 years which has been a highlight. |
