Name: Philip Gluyas
Birthday: May 23
Family: Married to Lee - no kids
Living In: Ballarat, Victoria
Football Team: In the AFL - no one (it was Collingwood when I was at DHS). I'm a grass roots man now, following the Northern Bullants in the VFL and of course Donvale in the Eastern FL!
Year 12 Subjects: Left in September in Year 11, flunking everything in sight in Term 1 and D's for Chemistry and English (which I still can't believe as we did Macbeth that term and I hated Shakespeare!) in Term 2.
Year 11 Ambition: I didn't really have one, except to get out when I did
Person I'd have most liked to meet in Year 11: Nobody springs to mind
Person I'd most like to meet now: Probably Vince McMahon (American professional wrestling promoter)
Significant memory of Year 11: House captain of Acacia when no one else wanted the job! (Editor's Note: One a few very fine young men to have been Acacia house captain - we, I mean, they were a fine group of people).
Current job: Unemployed (see below)
What's happened since Year 12: Plenty!

I spent three full years unemployed, doing a transition programme at Whitehorse TAFE in 1982. At the end of 1984 I had to undergo surgery for a strangulated intestine, an event that would have a lasting effect. In 1985 I got a job - as a mail officer with Australia Post. That was a six and a half year nightmare as work place bullying went way beyond anything I suffered at DHS or anywhere else for that matter. I finally tried to claim compensation, but when that failed I took a retirement package for the sake of my mental health at the end of 1991.

One of the few positives from Australia Post was that it was where I met Lee Capuano, who I married in 1992. After I left Australia Post I never worked again - except for a six month traineeship in Canberra with the public service, but they threw me out claiming unjustifiable hardship. I knew I was different back as far as when I was at DHS, but in February 1997 I finally got my explanation. I was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. It was that diagnosis that cost me my job in the public service, but it also explains why I had trouble with my social skills.

From 1983 to 2003 (with a gap from 1985 to 1987) I was umpiring footy. I moved around a bit and after 18 seasons I retired after a reserve grade first semi final with the Amateurs in 2003. My football interest now lies in it's history, and I've been collecting ladders from all over the place since the late 1980's. Since 2004 I've been going around the place visiting clubs to try and fill in gaps. This varies from around Melbourne to a massive three week trip to Western Australia (taking in Exmouth, Broome and a little place called Mundijong) in 2006.

I discovered pro wrestling in 1985, and since 2002 I've been involved in the local scene as a referee, commentator and also as a manager. I'm going through a hiatus of sorts at the moment due to some more bullying, but I am working (voluntarily) as the publicity officer for New Aussie Wrestling which holds shows in Sunshine, and will be expanding in 2008. I'm hoping to get a spot on the show back in the new year. And don't ask me if wrestling is fake - you'll get decked! (KIDDING!)
