How does this mesh with Year 12 ambition Well, I have certainly embraced a variety of design jobs over the years and now own a sign-writing franchise, so I guess it meshes pretty well!
What's happened since Year 12: Is this some trick question to see how the ol' grey matter is holding up?? How long have you got?

Well, two years of TAFE College studying Pre-vocational Advertising and Display.  Living at home in Nunawading with the folks.

Approx. 1 year in my first job as a Junior Artist & Packaging Designer.  Living at home in Nunawading with the folks.

Another 10 months at Repco as Junior Artist & Display person.  Moved into a flat in Flemington with Peter.

My next job lasted about 7 years at Jarvis Walker (yes, the fishing tackle people) as Marketing Co-ordinator. My job entailed everything from packaging design to building displays for trade shows and lots of travel to Sydney & Brisbane, with one overseas trip to Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand.  Moved from Flemington to Mitcham.

After that I made a "career move" to Carpet Call as their Victorian Advertising Manager and bagged a Company car (a Holden Camira!), that lasted about 13 months!  One can only handle "call, call Carpet Call"  so many times in one day!  It was interesting though, as I had my first taste of producing TV ads and got to rub shoulders with Channel 9 personalities!  Still living in Mitcham.

My last full time job was with an electrical engineering firm in Richmond as their Advertising Manager/Assistant to the Marketing Director, where I landed a substantial pay rise, a flash company car and an advertising department with about 12 staff. And all the responsibility that went with it.  Lotsa liquid lunches, too!  I stayed there about 3 years, then decided that I could do it better by myself and have been self employed or doing contract work for various companies, since.  Moved from Mitcham to Lilydale.

Made the move from Lilydale to Sunny Queensland in 1994.  Peter got a transfer with his work and Robin (Shirrefs) who was already living up here, found us a house to rent in Jindalee. The dogs (Nelson and Maxine) got to fly Pet Jet and we drove up in one of the cars!  I went back to TAFE, at Robin's suggestion, and took a course in Instructional Skills, so that I could teach in adult education at TAFE.  Did a few short stints at teaching Advertising & Display at Caboolture TAFE, before landing a great job as a casual Desktop Publisher for Education Queensland in their Distance Education Unit (now known as Access Ed).  I worked for them for 7 years, in between having children.  Moved to Goodna (a suburb of Ipswich).

4 months ago, Peter and I bought a Sign*A*Rama franchise in Springwood, QLD.  The business has had a slow start, but is beginning to show the fruits of all our hard work and financial outlay!
Anything else you want to tell us? Gosh no, you know how shy and retiring I am!
